As pressure pushes the limits of the form, segmented surfaces absorb the load with flexibility; transparency between the layers frees the mass from its weight.
Project
For the historic timber-roofed store room, she proposes an outer shell of dark, heavy, bent metal layers and an inner structure of transparent polymer panels that divide the space into regular segments. The existing shelves and antique mechanism are seen through the panels like exhibits.
